View from the Boatshed

This is my very first post, and my debut into the world of blogging.

I have long watched from the sidelines, read posts of people whose opinions I value, and thought I should contribute in some way, shape or form.  But … actually doing it has been the challenge!  Both in terms of time and, quite frankly, in valuing what I have to say.

So, I am currently sitting by Sydney Harbour by the Scots College Boatshed as my son begins his rowing career.  Around me are a group of teenage boys in their peak, it is sunny and the harbour looks superb, and I am posting my thoughts on the internet.

Mark Weisman’s world of “ubiquitous computing” suits me perfectly!  I have just spoken to my friend Cindy in Canada who is helping me develop the London House website, and we have had an interesting conversation about the parlous state of the US economy and it’s potential impact on both Canada and Australia, together with the various qualities of the US Presidential candidates; I have sent emails, I am listening to music on my iPhone and my dog is befriending everyone she finds.

As I gradually learn about the world of blogging I am looking forward to exploring this new world, and perhaps you may travel some of that journey with me.
